I’m a landscape photographer by profession. This means that I really enjoy taking photos of beautiful landscape scenes and sharing them with the world. However, that’s not all I like taking pictures of. I have several more kinds of photos which I like to take. Today I’m sharing some of those kinds of photographs with you.
If you’ve been a long-time lurker here, you might recognize some of these kinds of photographs as I’ve shared most of them before. I’ve decided to specialize in landscape photography, but I still enjoy other types of photography and here are the top kinds of photography subjects I like to shoot.
1. Flower Photos
If you’ve been hanging around here for a few years, you might have seen the phase when I was less specific in the kinds of nature photos I specialized in. One of the kinds of photographs I really enjoyed showing off then (and still enjoy taking now) is flower photography. Flowers are an obvious choice for someone like me so none of you should be surprised at this.

2. Firework Photos
Around here, the 4th of July is a big holiday with lots of fireworks (as the municipality can afford). I do my best to get out there and capture as many firework photos as I can for the year. Sometimes I don’t come back with anything worth showing off. That’s ok. Many times, I do.

3. Hot Air Balloon Photos
I do enjoy going out to Balloonfest and getting photos of the hot air balloons taking off every year. Those brightly colored giant bags of hot air are somehow very inspiring to me as a photographer. Each year brings new and different balloons too. If I’m careful and lucky, I can often capture hot air balloons as part of a landscape photo at the same time. That really works out well for me.

4. Wildlife Photos
I do enjoy taking photos of animals. Wild animals are actually quite interesting to me and add flavor to the rare photo I can get of them. However, I’m not good at wildlife photography. I’m not patient enough to wait or lucky enough to happen upon wild animals in my landscape photography pursuits. When I do run across such an opportunity, I do my best to capitalize on it. I’m still working on getting better at wildlife photography.

5. Astrophotography Photos
It might surprise you that I enjoy taking pictures of the night sky and the stars. Well, I do. The Milky Way and other other-worldly phenomenon can make for some amazing photos regardless of whether there is a landscape scene in the photo or not. I also love taking those kinds of photos.
6. Temple Photos
I so love taking pictures of temple photos. Temples and their grounds are designed to be some of the most beautiful buildings around. The grounds are well maintained and peaceful by design. They make for some beautiful photography, and I enjoy the opportunity I occasionally get to go out and capture pictures of such buildings for my portfolio.

Bonus
Ok, so it’s not much of a bonus to say that I love taking landscape photos. I was talking about that in the very first sentence. However, landscape photography is something which can get me out of bed in the morning and keep me up late at night. I’m not sure I have the words to describe how much I love landscape photography. How about a couple of pictures to give you a better idea?
Conclusion
In conclusion, I hope you enjoyed learning about different kinds of photography subjects I like to have in front of my camera lens. I’m not a single subject photographer after all. I hope that you see there are other kinds of photography which I pursue.
