We’ve had a really busy summer this year at Cramer Imaging.  If you’ve been keeping up with our new photo announcements, you probably wouldn’t believe that.  This is because we’ve been working on a project for the Grand Teton Council of the Boy Scouts of America.  Now we’re ready to reveal the first installment beautiful photos to all of you.

Last November, the council executive named Clarke Farrer approached me about a photo project he wanted done.  He loved my photos of Bryce Canyon and The Watchmen which I had entered into their annual charity auction.  The Council had recently acquired the old Melaleuca building in Idaho Falls and were converting it to a usable scout office or service center.  They wanted to name several of the rooms after lakes found within the council boundaries.  If you couldn’t tell, I was definitely interested.

With the list in hand a few days later, I had to wait to start because Idaho was about to plunge into winter and snow.  It also happened to be the nastiest winter this area has seen in many years.  Pocatello ran out of snow-plowing budget halfway through.  Once the weather started warming up, we got to work on the lakes.

Some lakes were surprisingly easy to get the shot.  Some lakes required multiple trips into Wyoming and Montana to capture.  I wanted to make sure I had nothing but the best for the Scouts.  This project is far from complete but here’s the first batch of photos from this year.

So, from the top and going left to right, we have Palisades Reservoir, American Falls Reservoir, Jenny Lake, Mackay Reservoir, Ririe Reservoir, Lewis Lake, Jackson Lake, and Island Park Reservoir.

Some of these lakes are in Yellowstone National Park and some are in Grand Teton National Park.  Many of these lakes are used by the farmers for watering their crops which become the food we eat.  Some of these locations are perfectly picturesque.  Some are just big ugly holes in the ground with no surrounding landscape to make photos interesting unless you know what to do.  Either way, all of these photos came out looking amazing.
