Award for Meandering

  • 3 mins read

I was watching a video put out by another landscape photographer talking about the Grand Circle of Southern Utah, Northern Arizona and New Mexico, and even Southeastern Colorado.  Spoiler here, there’s a HECK of a lot to see here.  You could probably take a year and not see it all.  That’s how much there is to see here.  Anyways, he mentioned a particularly famous river and a particularly famous bend in that river.  I’d been there myself and taken my own landscape photo.  He described the formation as something geologic.  Sadly, I needed to look it up what as the name didn’t stick in my head.  We call this formation: meandering.  So, why do I bring this up?  Well, I just received an award for my photo of river meandering.

Once again, Viewbug reached out in email to announce they awarded one of my landscape photos.  It always feels good to see one of those in my inbox and read about my new photo award.  So, down to business.  I’ll give you exactly what the announcement contained.

The email is short and sweet, as usual.

I know that the Horseshoe Bend is a popular landscape photography site during the summer.  However, have you seen such a winter photo?  I don’t see many.  I must say, however, that the trail to reach the view is treacherous.  The sandy trail becomes wet and slick.  You are constantly searching for sure footing over the dips and rises in the landscape.  I don’t recommend this hike for the infirm or for little children for that reason.  If you don’t fall into those categories, you might try this hike for yourself if you’re in the area.

In conclusion, I’m delighted to add yet another of my landscape photos into my award-winning collection.  Who knew I’d receive an award for a meandering Colorado River photo?  So, what do you think of this photo and my new award?  I’d love to know what you think.  Please share your thoughts in the comments section below.
