This past Friday was the annual holiday auction for the Grand Teton Council here in Southeastern Idaho.  It’s a charity auction and fundraiser to help support scouting in this area.  We donated something to the auction this year.

We’ve been active attendees of the auction for the past few years.  It’s really quite the nice affair with dinner, dessert bidding, and silent as well as live auctions.

We enjoy helping out the staff as they need lots of help with this event.  We also decided to add something to the lots to help with building young people’s leadership and outdoors skills through scouting.

This year, we donated a matted and framed copy of our popular photograph titled “Upper Mesa Falls” after the name of the waterfall it depicts.  Below is a clearer version without the reflections of the lights above in the glass.

This was an unexpectedly popular donation.  Out of the many pictures which were donated to the silent auction, this single photograph did the best.  As you can see below, there was a bit of a bidding war going on over it.

It was a very successful auction this year.  The council raised a lot of money to help fund its youth leadership and outdoors programs for the coming year thanks to this charity auction.  We were glad to be a part of it once again.  We look forward to next year’s auction.
