It’s about time that I share with you an exciting piece of news which took place a few days ago.  I do look forward to these kinds of announcements when they come.  Today, I’m happy to share the news with all of you my fans.  I’m the ‘face of Balloonfest,’ if you will.

A few days ago, I received a phone call which I wasn’t expecting.  It was a request from the Panguitch city event coordinator to license one of my photos for this year’s Balloonfest advertising.  This is, of course, a big honor for me.  I’ve not licensed a photo to a municipality before.

Here’s the photo which was licensed to the city.  It’s from last year’s Balloonfest.  The skies were great last year so I was able to capture much more interesting skies in my photos than the previous year’s clear skies.  I think that one of the big selling points of this photo was including the landscape in with the balloons.

After I licensed the photo, I sat back and waited for the flyers to appear.  I definitely wanted to get a photo to share with you.  Then I found one.  It looks amazing.  Then I found the ad in the local newspaper The Insider.  It’s in the Thursday June 18, 2020 issue numbered 1364 on page 3 under the fold.  Here’s a picture of both ads together for you to enjoy.

It does feel good to be the ‘face’ of this year’s Balloonfest.  I’m looking forward to this coming weekend to expand my hot air balloon photo portfolio just in case anyone else wants to license a photo.
