Hello once again landscape photography fans. It’s time again for another BTS video from Audrey Cramer Photography. This particular behind-the-scenes video takes us back to Idaho Falls to the Snake River. Here is the Idaho Falls waterfall in autumn. It also comes with the picturesque view of the Idaho Falls temple.
Continuing my Idaho Falls autumn landscape photography, I came to the main waterfall in the middle of the city. There were trees showing off the gorgeous orange fall leaves. I couldn’t resist trying for the view. The trick was finding the right spot to stand and shoot from. So, I started looking for that place.
Thanks to the huge width of this waterfall, I had many different views at my disposal. But this particular view ended up lining up the orange leaves I wanted with the interesting foreground of the rocks and white water flowing past them. It was perfect.
However, I did have a problem. As you can see in the video, it was late in the evening. Blue hour was deep. This meant that the light was failing. I didn’t have too much time to take this shot. Indeed, blue hour let me go for a long exposure to smooth out the water.
As the light failed for the evening, I captured this scene. Indeed, it’s an oasis of raw natural beauty in the middle of urban sprawl. It’s beautiful even with the artificially level waterline pouring off the edge of the dam. In fact, that line seems to add something to the photo for me.
