It’s time once again for a behind-the-scenes landscape photography video.  This time we have another national park to feature.  We’re taking a look at the day I shot my “Grand Canyon” photo.  This national park is a highly popular tourist spot and also popular with landscape photographers too.  It really is a famous hole-in-the-ground and this will show why.

After learning that the Grand Canyon was within a reasonable day trip radius (at least the north rim), I wanted to go see the place for myself.  Of course I wanted to bring my camera along as well.  However, access to the north rim is limited by seasonal closures.  I needed to time my visit to a window where it’s open.  So, I took my opportunity during the summer.  Unfortunately, there was a fire burning in the area at the time.

There are a few other deep canyons nearby, so I needed to make sure I photographed the correct 1.  I made a point of learning which canyon was actually the Grand Canyon itself.  This is it.  The smoke in the air tinged the sunset, but the view was amazing even still.

It was enjoyable to visit 1 of the nation’s premier national parks to see it for myself.  I do intend to expand this beginning of a landscape photography collection.  The sunset clouded with smoke was a bit disappointing, but it was summer.  I must expect that possibility during fire season and do my research beforehand.  This photo shoot is the 1 which started that research necessity for me.

So, now that you’ve seen the BTS video made that day, what do you think?  Does it add something to the landscape photo of the Grand Canyon above for you?  Please leave your thoughts in the comments section below.

Nice to see you working to add more photos to include the big “hole in the ground” park. Great job! Look forward to seeing more in the future.
